The Matsui Sakura is a Japanese single malt aged in sakura casks, the famous and iconic Japanese cherry tree. This tree holds an important place in Japanese culture, often used as a metaphor to highlight the ephemeral nature of beauty and life. It has always been a source of inspiration for Japanese artists. This double-distilled Japanese whisky in Pot Still is aged in sakura casks in Tottori Prefecture, in a natural and aging-friendly environment. It is then reduced with natural spring water from Mount Daisen. This whisky is carefully crafted with heart and passion by the Matsui team! TASTING NOTE 
Nose : Rich and delicious, distinguished with notes of white flowers and sweet spices (vanilla, cinnamon).
Palate : A character that after a few seconds reveals itself to be straightforward, rich and warm.
Finish : Long, very floral finish.
THE BRAND
MATSUI whiskies are produced by Matsui Shuzo at the Kurayoshi Distillery. The distillery is located in Tottori Prefecture, in the southern part of Honshu Island, known for its sand dunes. The distillery's geographical location allows it to benefit from the pure groundwater of the Daisen Mountains. In addition to "The Kurayoshi Pure Malt" and "The Tottori Blended" ranges, a three-product line has just been launched: "The Matsui Single Malt," with a tribute to Japanese culture and its "Ukiyo-e" drawing art form. Each label in the range has been carefully designed. Katsushika Hokusai, with his series of prints "36 Views of Mount Fuji", was chosen to illustrate the strength of the Single Malt "The Matsui The Peated". His vision of "Umezawa in Sagami Province" was chosen to represent the freshness of the Single Malt "The Matsui Mizunara cask". Finally, it is the artist Kikukawa Eizan and one of his many portraits of a woman walking in a Sakura field that was chosen to represent the delicate Single Malt 'The Matsui Sakura cask' with the print "Beauty in the Cherry Blossom Garden".
