Founded in 1962 by Gilbert Miclo in Lapoutroie , in the heart of the Alsatian Vosges, the Miclo Distillery was born from a desire for excellence: to offer eaux-de-vie and spirits of impeccable quality. Taken over in 1995 by his son Michel, the family business continues to grow, while preserving its local and artisanal roots. After decades dedicated to fruit eaux-de-vie, the distillery launched its first malt distillations in 2011. In 2016 , it finally presented its single malt whiskies , renowned for their elegance and distinctive character. GI Alsace certified, Miclo whiskies are made exclusively from Alsatian barley, without additives, colorings or sweeteners. A requirement for purity and respect for the terroir. Located in the Welche Country , on a mountainside, the distillery benefits from an ideal climate for aging.
