Champagne Franck Bonville: white of whites grand cru from Avize, finesse and terroir
The Franck Bonville Champagne house draws its legitimacy from a heritage built in 1900 by Alfred Bonville, then consolidated by his son Franck. Located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, it has established itself as a benchmark for Grand Cru blanc de blancs thanks to its constant focus on grape quality and precision in winemaking. Olivier Bonville, who returned in 1996 with international experience, modernized the tools without breaking with tradition: long aging, underground millstone gallery cellars, and harvesting at peak maturity are all used to create pure, expressive champagnes. The vineyard extends over 15 hectares, crossing three Grand Cru villages—Avize, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger—which gives each cuvée a unique complexity of origin. The grapes are carefully harvested at maturity, then the wines rest for two and a half to six years in cool cellars, allowing for a subtle refinement of the aromas. The chalky terroir of Avize reveals itself through a mineral tension, a chiseled freshness and an aromatic depth that characterize the wines of the house. The Franck Bonville style is synonymous with elegance, precision and purity. The Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru cuvée embodies this signature: finesse of the bubbles, balance between freshness and creamy texture, notes of citrus, white flowers and a beautiful salinity on the finish. The Unisson Grand Cru cuvée adds a warmer dimension while maintaining a refined delicacy, with touches of candied citrus and flowers, ideal for enhancing aperitifs and delicate dishes. Finally, the Pur Avize 2015 cuvée illustrates the nobility of Chardonnay from the Avize terroir: creamy texture, notes of almond, white-fleshed fruits and a persistent freshness. Each bottle tells the story of the encounter between a place, family know-how and mastered patience. Champagne Franck Bonville is a benchmark for enthusiasts seeking deep, elegant, and authentic terroir champagnes.
