J. BALLY RUM: THE HISTORY OF AGED RUM FROM MARTINIQUE
In 1917, Jacques Bally acquired the Lajus estate on the island of Martinique and established his distillery there, marking the beginning of one of the greatest traditions of Martinique rum. Using innovative techniques for the time, he installed steam-powered machinery and a Creole still of his own invention, thus producing an exceptional rum. J.Bally rum began to be marketed in 1925, a time when aging rums was almost non-existent. A visionary, Jacques Bally chose to age his rums from the start, thus allowing the marketing of aged rums that would mark the history of the industry. Very early on, he also developed the iconic shape of his bottles, with pyramidal and rectangular designs, contributing to the uniqueness of the brand.
