CHAMPAGNE BONNET-PONSON: THE EXCELLENCE OF A WINE-GROWING FAMILY ROOTED IN TRADITION
The history of Champagne Bonnet-Ponson began in 1862, when Grégoire Bonnet, a pioneer among growers, laid the foundations of a winemaking tradition in the picturesque village of Chamery, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. In 1957, the union of André Bonnet and Monique Ponson gave birth to the Champagne Bonnet-Ponson house. Their land, rich in Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay grape varieties, gradually expanded to 9 hectares of vines, including the emblematic plots of Chamery, Vrigny, and Coulommes-la-Montagne. In 1979, Thierry Bonnet, André and Monique's son, took over the management of the estate. Thanks to his expertise, the vineyard expanded, with the addition of new hectares of vines from the terroirs of Chamery, Vrigny, and Verzenay. It was under his leadership that the estate established itself in the world of Champagne, creating cuvées of exceptional quality. In 2013, Cyril Bonnet, the sixth generation of winemakers, joined the estate and brought his modern vision, converting the vineyard to organic farming. This choice is part of a constant concern for respect for the environment, using innovative methods such as phytotherapy and promoting biodiversity.
