Taittinger's Prélude Grands Crus cuvée highlights the House's finest terroirs. To create this exceptional brut champagne , the cellar master carefully selected the best plots. They are located exclusively on terroirs classified as Grand Cru, the upper level of the Champagne appellation. The Prélude Grands Crus cuvée is composed of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir, using only the cuvées, that is to say the first juices from the pressing. Thanks to this quality of grapes, this champagne is designed for prolonged aging, allowing a slow and complex development of the aromas. This Taittinger champagne is distinguished by its brilliant, pale color, enhanced with silvery highlights. Its fine, elegant bubbles form a magnificent rosary. From the first nose, this champagne reveals a mineral freshness and a vegetal touch, quickly evolving towards floral notes reminiscent of elderflower. On the palate, the attack is lively and frank, offering citrus aromas. Then, this cuvée rounds out and gains in breadth and roundness. The finish is long, rich and explosive, testifying to the finesse, complexity and balance of Prélude Grands Crus. The Prélude “Grands Crus” cuvée can be enjoyed as an aperitif and goes wonderfully with great seafood dishes.

As proof of its quality, Taittinger's Cuvée Prélude Grands Crus has obtained 9 remarkable guide scores : 17 / 20 Bettane & Desseauve, 17 / 20 Jancis Robinson, 90 / 100 Parker, 89 / 100 Revue du Vin de France, 83 / 100 Richard Juhlin, 92 / 100 Wine Spectator, 1 Hachette star, 15 / 20 Gault & Millau and 95 / 100 Tyson Stelzer.

THE BRAND

Taittinger is established on the ruins of ancient Benedictine abbeys that crafted the first wines as early as the 13th century. With a composition primarily based on Chardonnay, which gives it its distinctive character, Taittinger champagne has established itself on the world stage, with 70% of its production exported. However, it's not just the essential classics such as Brut Réserve, Prestige Rosé, and Brut Millésimé. There's also the world of the House's exceptional cuvées, including the prestigious Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs and Rosé, created in homage to the legendary Count of Champagne, Thibault IV. In 2005, the Taittinger group changed hands, passing into those of an American pension fund. However, the following year, Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger, a staunch defender of the family legacy, took over the reins of the House with the support of Crédit Agricole du Nord Est in 2006. With an impressive 290-hectare estate, it produces between 5 and 5.5 million bottles of exceptional champagne each year. Its warehouse is filled with approximately 12 million bottles, demonstrating its constant commitment to quality and excellence. Maison Taittinger was the first to receive a High Environmental Value and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne certificate. In 2027, it was certified High Environmental Value level 3 (HVE) and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne (VDC) in 2017. It has also received a gold medal from the Decanter World Wine Awards, a bronze medal and Commended by the International Wine Challenge, and a silver medal from the IWSC.
