CHAMAREL RUM: THE ART OF MAURITIAN AGRICULTURAL RUM

Located in the heart of Mauritius, the Chamarel distillery is a jewel of agricultural rum, where the quality of sugarcane and artisanal production methods meet. Founded in 2008, this young but already renowned distillery produces exceptional rums from three varieties of cane: blue cane, yellow cane, and red cane. All sugarcane comes from plantations owned by Chamarel, thus providing complete control over the process, from cultivation to distillation. Mauritius' unique conditions, including its tropical and humid climate and oceanic influences, provide an ideal terroir for sugarcane cultivation. The distillery is located at an altitude of 300 meters, surrounded by cane fields and tropical crops, which influences the development of the cane and the aging of the rum. The harvest, always manual, preserves the quality of the canes, which are then pressed quickly to retain all their freshness.
